Hello All. I hope you are doing well. I am feeling lead to delve into the subject of Transformation. The butterfly is said to be a symbol of transformation due of course to the magical transformation that the caterpillar goes through to become a bright and beautiful butterfly.
If one stops to take the time to study the transformation one will find quite few major changes that take place. The caterpillar is a worm-like creature that crawls on its belly everywhere it goes. It cannot fly because it has no wings. It is low to the earth for the duration of it’s caterpillar life. This is important to the transformation. We as humans also start or lives crawling on our bellies, close to the ground. We are new and need to be grounded to be centered in order to gain the balance we need to stand and walk. Once the Caterpillar is grounded and centered it is able to move into the chrysalis stage in which it goes through mitosis and develops into a butterfly. The wings are actually sort of present while it was a caterpillar. If dissected, you will find the wing nubs on the third thorax under the caterpillar skin. The caterpillar may not be aware of the beginnings of his wings but they are there none the less awaiting the time for the maturation.
We as well have our beauty and power within us from conception even if we are unaware of it. We as humans are open minded and receptive of magic and paranormal phenomenon until we are programed by society and even our own families to not accept magic as real. We are told that it is all just part of our imagination or we are told that our abilities are evil and of the Christians Devil. Some of us hold on tightly in our hearts to our wings until the time of maturation, and some of us lose the remembrance of the magic we were born with and born into. We who proudly claim to be witches mature into adults and open up to spread our wings and fly beautifully as we were always meant to. And those who forget the magic in their hearts….stays in the caterpillar form for the remainder of their lives. Those lifelong caterpillars glare at us and point and hurl insults and accusations that we are evil and use the devils magic in order to fly. Unfortunately in centuries past there have been a lot of butterflies hung and burnt at the stake for nothing more than living up to their potential.
Don’t rush through your grounding process and wish away the precious time it takes to develop your full potential, however make sure that pressures from the outside world does not hinder your development either. Move through your transformation at the speed that was intended for you personally for we are all individual and special in the makeup of who we were born to be.
