The new moon is a dark bowl, empty and waiting to be filled, and so it is the truest hour to begin a hoard. A sealed jar is a held breath — a wish kept warm in glass until the moon grows round enough to answer it.
This working reaches toward accumulation that lasts: money that gathers rather than passes through. Each coin is a seed, each grain of salt a ward against loss, and the closed lid a vow that what enters here will not easily leave.
The Working
- On the dark of the moon, gather nine coins, a green glass jar, and a bowl of clean salt.
- In the bowl, mix the salt with dried herbs of holding — clove, cinnamon, and a pinch of chamomile — and stir them sunwise nine times.
- On a slip of paper write the sum you wish to keep, fold it toward yourself three times, and lay it at the bottom of the jar.
- Drop the coins in one by one, naming a debt paid or a comfort gained with each.
- Pour the salted herbs over the coins until they are buried, then press a small green crystal on top as a keeper.
- Seal the lid and speak the incantation over the cold glass.
- Set the jar in a dark cupboard, and add a single coin at each new moon thereafter.

Dark moon, empty and deep,
here is a thing I would keep.
Salt to hold and coin to draw,
seal it under the old law.
Nine to gather, none to spill,
grow with the moon at my will.
The lid closed is the spell closed; leave the jar in shadow, and let each turning moon feed the quiet weight within.
