The Working
- At dusk, gather a clean jar and set your ingredients in a bowl by the failing light.
- Lay down a first layer of salt to floor the jar and hold ill fortune out.
- Add clover, bay, and a pinch of cinnamon for luck that draws and luck that quickens.
- Nestle a green or gold crystal into the herbs as the jar’s steady heart.
- Pour in a little water gathered at the same dusk, enough to wed the layers together.
- Speak the charm as you cap the jar, sealing the day’s last light inside with wax dripped from a candle.
- Keep the jar where you pass it often, giving it a shake whenever you wish your luck awake.
