Samhain is one of the most important celebrations of the pagan community, and this year is celebrated on the eve of October 31st, 2020. This page is a highlight of Samhain Sabbat events in 2020, as well as photos and videos of you guys celebrating. We welcome photos, stories, videos or anything else you might have to share with us that can give us a glimpse of what you did on Samhain 2020 (we’d also love to see your altar setup)!

This year’s Samhain will be a bit different and for many of us it can be very lonely to celebrate Samhain in 2020. Covid-19 stormed into our lives, it brought a lot of sorrow, sickness, lockdowns, separated us from our relatives and friends. Still, just like everything else it will pass eventually and it’s a great idea to use Samhain rituals to fight with Covid-19, bring our lives back and defeat this grim illness that almost brought humanity to its knees.

Even if this year you are limited with your options to celebrate Samhain with your friends, coven members or anyone else you shared your faith with – celebrating is still possible, both home and outside. You just have to be careful and keep your social distance or if you chose to celebrate at home you can check out the relevant rituals which could be performed without going out and alone.

If you are still thinking about going out for a celebration, try to be as careful as possible, keep your distance and stay with your mask always on. Masks during Covid-19 pandemics are somewhat controversial but no matter what your own opinion on the matter – you can always use your mask as a ritual item or make it part of your costume (in case you are dressing up for the celebration).

These are almost mandatory for Samhain this year:

Samhain Meal

Since it is the last harvest festival before winter’s cold – use it to cherish and honor the harvest and food on your table with a meal full of fresh produce, and don’t forget the pumpkins.

Release last’s year energy

Visualize yourself releasing last’s year energy. It’s time to get rid of any ties to the old and embrace the new.

Breathe in season’s air

During Samhain the air gets cooler and you can use this amazing opportunity to feel the difference.
Get out and feel the fresh cold air feeling your lungs, feel the energy in it, Autumn smell, Samhain smell.

Light candles

Samhain is the borderline you cross going from warm to cold, weather is changing, air is getting colder.
Light some candles to warm your soul, home and bring more light to the hearts of those you love and cherish.

Honor Ancestors

Sometimes the distance from our world to the other side seems very close.
Honoring the ancestors who might visit during those times when the distance is getting shorter sounds like a great idea.
Arrange an additional plate on your dinner table, make it inviting for the spirits. They will be grateful.

Try our Samhain social group and join in the fun to discuss, upload pictures and show off your videos. Anything could help our brothers and sisters to survive during this period, send in your videos and images of the celebration. It could help a lot. Blessed be!

Things to do on Samhain 2020

As the veil becomes thin enough to blur both worlds, there are things that you could do during Samhain, here are some ideas. Don’t forget that Samhain is a perfect time for a ritual to communicate with the dead – have a look at this ritual, and if you happen to be a member in a coven, take a look at this ritual. Samhain 2020 is a magical period where divination is at its strongest point, so if you happen to perform tarot card spreads – here’s one for you to try out.

And we can’t forget the foods, what can be better during the current closeups forced upon us! Pumpkin is one of Samhain’s prominent symbols, and there’s a lot of tasty stuff that you can cook with it. Why not try pumpkin muffins or maybe bake pumpkin bread.
